For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good work, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Our Work in the Community

At Little River Presbyterian Church, serving our neighbors is at the heart of who we are. We are committed to living out Christ’s love through local mission projects, outreach programs, and acts of care that support our community in meaningful ways. From food drives and charitable giving to hands-on volunteer efforts, our congregation works together to make a tangible difference in the lives of those around us. Guided by faith and fellowship, we strive to be a presence of hope, compassion, and service, showing God’s love in action every day.

Quilts

Prayer quilts are dedicated and prayed over by the congregation before going home to those who are in need of prayer and comfort. They are sent all over the world to active military, newlyweds, babies, veterans as well as those who need healing prayers. Oftentimes the quilters sew with the understanding that God only knows who will receive the quilt they are stitching.

Samaritan’s Purse

For almost three decades, Little River has packed shoe boxes with gifts to send to children for Christmas with Samaritan’s Purse. This project kicks off a season of giving at Little River.

OCIM

Little River is proud to support our local foodbank OCIM. Orange Congregations in Mission has committed to serving those in crisis in northern Orange County for over 40 years.

BBQ

Little River’s annual BBQ fundraiser happens on the third Saturday in September. Our most recent BBQs have supported organizations helping with the recovery efforts of Hurricane Helene in Western NC.

Children’s Hope Alliance

Children have always played an important role in life at Little River. In the late 1800s Presbyterian Orphans Home at Barium Springs Home was set up in Iredell County to house orphaned children in NC. Little River has supported the efforts of this organization through the years as methods of care have changed and focus has shifted to foster care and short term residential crisis response. Child welfare will always be a key component in the mission of Little River.

NC Diaper Bank

The Diaper Bank of North Carolina provides supplemental diaper coverage to babies across NC, as well as adult incontinence and menstrual supplies to those in need. Located in Hillsborough, they are just a quick trip from the church for a volunteer session.
